Great photos of the Women’s Waterpolo Final at Melbourne2020 IGLA Championships from Sydney Stingers Water Polo🌈🤽‍♀️ Last month’s IGLA Melbourne 2020 was the first ever IGLA or Gay Games tournament to feature a dedicated women’s water polo competition. Our Sydney Stingers women joined players from cities including Atlanta, Brisbane, London, Melbourne, Paris, Perth, San Francisco, and Toronto to showcase the incredible sporting talent of LGBTIQ and allied women in our communities. Sydney Stingers along with IGLA are working towards even greater women’s representation at future tournaments!

TLV Nemos – New Swimmers off the Block

As a center for LGBT culture and competitive swimming, the Middle East is an unlikely candidate. One plucky team in Tel Aviv, Isreal is working to change that.

The TLV Nemos are a young team. Only one month old in fact – the team only started swimming together in November.

The Nemos origin story is similar to those of many IGLA teams. Sagi Krispin, TLV Nemos Captain, participated in Gay Games 9 held last summer in Cleveland, Ohio. When Krispin returned home to Tel Aviv he decided that Tel Aviv must have a GLBT swimming team.  So he started with  Facebook and formed a team.

The Nemos are diving right in!  They are already working on plans to host the first Tel Aviv Water Games in October 2015.  For the first time ever, this festival will unite the freedom of gay Tel Aviv with an international sports event on the shores of beautiful Tel Aviv. This promises to be an amazing Coming Out Party for an energized debutante team.image

Tel Aviv is known as one of the world’s finest and friendliest GLBT travel destinations. It is a kind of oasis where a person can express themselves or just simply be themselves in cosmopolitan gay-friendly city.

The vibrant scene is alive year-round, with dazzling nightlife, hip restaurants, stylish boutiques, and busy streets hopping with clubs and cafés: perfect for people who love to get out and about.

“Tel Aviv is the perfect spot for GLTB sporting event. Put yourself on the warm sands of the Mediterranean with 28º weather that’s perfect for a beach volleyball tournament. The city is full of Pride, sportsmanship and the joy of competition,” says Krispin.

When you go, plan on sunset yoga on the beach, bicycle tours of the city, and of course – when night falls – the best bars, clubs, and late night celebrations. TWG 2015  is produced by a team of  LGBT producers and athletes who joined together with the leading Israeli sports productions & Tourism company Issta Sport.

IGLA welcomes TLV Nemos and are excited to experience the beauty, charm and energy the Nemos will offer at the Tel Aviv Water Games and IGLA.
