1. Championship Rules changes
The Board received some limited feedback on rules changes, but are not presently recommending a specific motion for revisions to be voted on at the AGM, in order to allow more time for the membership at large to consider the proposals attached here, or make additional recommendations.
The Board may entertain motions at the AGM to adopt, revise or postpone decisions on the recommendations received thus far.
2. Name and Mission Statement
The Board recommends the following amendments to organization’s name and mission statement, following discussion of the effort across the LGBTQ+ sport movement to become more welcoming and inclusive of the full diversity of our community.

The addition of T and Q include the trans and queer communities, and the + is inclusive of our straight, gender nonconforming, gender non-binary, and additional athletes who may not identify with the other letters in the acronym.
3. Board Vacancies
With the expiration of current members’ terms, there will be vacancies on the IGLA Board in the following offices:
2 Co-Chairs
1 Co-President

We invite any interested members to consider running for these offices and helping carry forward IGLA’s mission. Nominations and election will take place at the AGM.
4. 2019 IGLA Chamionships
Click here to review the bid package from Team New York Aquatics to host the 2019 IGLA Championships.
At the AGM, Team New York Aquatics will give a 10-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer period, which will be followed by a Yes/No vote by the membership.
5. Uganda Fundraising
The Uganda Kuchus Aquatics Team (UKAT) are the only LGBTQ+ swim team in Uganda. We are raising funds to support five of these out, proud, brave swimmers to attend the annual IGLA International LGBTQ+ Aquatics Championships in Miami.
This is an unparalleled opportunity for LGBTQ+ activists athletes from one of the most homophobic countries in the world to be a part of an international queer gathering, make connections with other LGBTQ+ people from around the world, and swim and compete in a safe, supportive atmosphere.

Please click here to donate and please share word about this fundraiser as widely as you can. To learn more about the team, visit their Facebook page.
